Doras is an independent non-governmental organisation which works to support and promote the rights of all migrants living in Limerick. We provide a range of services, some of which are designed to meet the specific needs of the migrant community and others which are available to the wider Limerick community. Our main areas of work are advocacy and campaigns, integration and intercultural work, capacity building, and the provision of an advice and information service. Our work contributes to the enhancement of Limerick as a place to live, through the supporting and facilitating the development of a more integrated community which is welcoming to all. Doras is registered as a company and has charitable status.
Our vision for Ireland is a society where equality and respect for the human rights of migrants are social norms. Our core values are rooted in the human rights framework, with a belief in equality and non-discrimination in both public and private life. We believe that it is a humanitarian imperative to be welcoming towards new communities arriving in Ireland, and to extend particular support to the most vulnerable among them.
