Dornie Croft

Dornie Croft is all about enjoying the fantastic west coast of Scotland. Two architect-designed, craft built eco-friendly houses for your perfect self-catering holiday. On the shores of Loch Long and views across to the hills, you’ll not tire of watching the sea, sky and wildlife. Only a few minutes walk from the iconic Eilean Donan Castle and a short drive to the Isle of Skye, Dornie is an ideal base for exploring. If you like active holidays, we’re close to many Munroes, there’s plenty of sea for kayaking, and some challenging cycle routes. Both houses are equipped to the highest standards and accommodate up to four guests (although they’re not suitable for under-12s or pets). We’ve used Scottish fabrics including #HarrisTweed in the interiors and there’s a definite modern Scottish vibe. On the ground floor, there’s a spacious seating area overlooking the loch, an open-plan sitting and dining area as well as a fully-equipped kitchen. Also downstairs there’s a twin/superking bedroom and shower room. The ground floor has no steps or thresholds. Upstairs there’s another lovely seating area with a desk and chair in case you have to do some work. The kingsize bedroom with en-suite bath and shower complete the house. We aim for sustainability with eco-friendly products, air source underfloor heating and also an EV charger. We’re a local family who are active crofters and we always like to say hello to our guests but also leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday unless you need us. Gaelic is an important part of our lives too so one house is An Dòbhran (the otter) and the other An t-Iolaire (the eagle). Both can be spotted though we can’t guarantee it!
