DOT Technology set up and run local assembly and manufacturing facilities in Ethiopia. This presents an opportunity to enhance Ethiopia’s growing economy by kick-starting a sector that is globally recognized as a driver of socioeconomic growth i.e. manufacturing. Implementation will be executed in several phases with increasing complexity of products and expanded coverage of customers and market segments. Expansion will include export of electronic devices and white goods to strategic trade partners to leverage on regional trade relationships within COMESA and the Africa Continentals Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). It will also include contract manufacturing for international vendors. We anticipate several positive outcomes from the implementation of this plan such as contributing to national socioeconomic development while creating opportunities for quality employment, strengthening Ethiopia’s position as a regional and international trade partner, reducing reliance on international vendors thus increasing Ethiopia’s self-reliance while reducing pressure on forex reserves.
