Vision: The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Police will strive to be a model state law enforcement agency, through an expectation of excellence, impartiality, and commitment to the residents and visitors of our State, through unparalleled service. Mission: The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Police will protect with courage and vigilance, while serving with professionalism and honor. DOTD Police is charged by Louisiana state statutes and Transportation Commission Rules and Regulations to protect the public and the transportation critical infrastructure by enforcing the commercial vehicle weight and size limits, and, driver and vehicle safety equipment inspections. Other responsibilities include, enforcement of fuel tax, operational authority, seizure of contraband, recovery of stolen property, arrest of fugitives, and rescue of human trafficking victims.
