Technical Education is established in Sri Lanka with the commencement of “Technical School” at Maradana in 1893 Technical Education, which has a 125+years history, is now developed in 39 Technical Colleges located in different parts of the country. Action has been commenced to modernize the training courses as suitable for industrial development, after assessing the system. Accordingly, it has developed the Colleges of Technology and recognized the Departmental activities and programs of Technical Colleges. Required measures have been taken the programs of Technical Education to achieve the mission of the Technical Education.
