Double Bond Pharmaceutical is a fast growing pharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes innovative first-in-class approaches for treatment of cancers, infections, autoimmune diseases and other life-threatening disorders. The main aim of the company is to provide patients and the market with more efficient and safe products especially in areas where these needs are unmet. The human population is growing and also the life-span is increasing. Many children born today can be expected to live until they are about 100 years old. By these reasons it can be expected that the need for efficient therapies for treatment of different diseases will steadily increase. Thus, the aim of the company is to design better medicinal products for patients suffering from diseases such as cancer, inflammation, asthma or diabetes since the primary end-point is the well-being of the patient. Everything counts if it improves the health condition and quality of life for patients afflicted with life-threatening diseases and no medicine or treatment can be viewed as “luxury”. A major problem is that many of the current therapies are not optimal for the patient, implying that the therapy in itself, besides curing the patient, might also cause great suffering in the form of side-effects. Subsequently, we understand that for finding a successful therapy, many ideas about the drug development process which emerged over the past decades have to be reconsidered. In our strategy to develop superior medicines, we are combining already known efficient approaches with our innovative first-in-class technologies to provide new therapeutic possibilities for treatment of life-threatening diseases.
