About Douglas Deakin Young, now part of RBC Brewin Dolphin

Douglas Deakin Young was a wealth and investment management firm based in Central London. Established in 1974 by Louise Botting CBE (née Young), the founding presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Moneybox, it offered a comprehensive range of wealth management services. In later years, its greatest growth was in investment management and it managed the equivalent of $1.5 billion today. In 2005, the firm was acquired by the private bank, Duncan Lawrie. Then in 2015, the investment management business of Duncan Lawrie – largely consisting of the Douglas Deakin Young business – was acquired by Brewin Dolphin, where many of the staff and clients are today. Brewin Dolphin was acquired by RBC in 2022 and is now known as RBC Brewin Dolphin.
