At Douglas Maritime, we primarily specialise in dry cargo and we have decades of expertise in the movement of bulk fertilisers, steel, fuels, breakbulk, project cargoes, heavy lifts, and sensitive and IMDG cargoes. We have the flexibility to support customers with small container loads and one-off spot shipments, or we can charter full ships and deliver ongoing contracts of affreightment. And this flexibility extends to our client base too. We’ve supported SMEs who have never previously moved goods by sea, and worked with some of the world’s largest multinationals on major shipments. We have extensive experience in the European short sea market. However, we cover the entire globe, working with charterers and operators to move commodities and ship cargoes to and from Europe, North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East. We have specialist expertise and a long track record in the worldwide movement of IMDG cargoes and the associated regulatory and compliance requirements. Our capabilities also include assisting with demurrage calculations and claims, working with partners to assist with export documentation, and providing market insight.
