DOVECOTE SCHOOL

Dovecote is an Ofsted registered independent special school for pupils aged 5-18 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), who have been able to access education and thus their future will start at Dovecote School. We provide comprehensive and dedicated resources to address complex emotional and social needs arising from mental health issues, autism (ASD), anxiety, Specific learning difficulties (SLD) and/or trauma Our special educational needs (SEN) teachers work side-by-side with highly experienced therapists that includes Psychology, Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Drama and Play Therapy. Combining new techniques to integrate therapy into the education program establishes an ‘Enhanced Curriculum’ for our pupils and creates a healing environment. We plan to support parents/careers alongside the LA so every young person meets their full potential and completes their education ready for the next step in their life. Their future will start they day they step into or with Dovecote staff. A high staff-to-pupil ratio means that our program is bespoke to the unique needs of each pupil All our staff are trained to help pupils identify, understand, accept and know their feelings to achieve improved emotional regulation and wellbeing.
