Down syndrome support is an NGO, based at the Red Cross Hospital in outpatients, that offers counselling for parents and the family of children born with Intellectual disability. We offer parent support groups, a Toy Library Services for children from birth to preschool. We welcome referrals from healthcare practitioners or concerned relatives or friends of children with Down syndrome or any intellectual disability. We also offer outreach services including a toy library clinic in Khayelitsha.
Vision
Individuals with Down Syndrome (and other intellectual disabilities) will reach their full potential and impact families and communities so that everyone will acknowledge their inherent dignity and abilities.
