Downlights NZ

Illuminate - Care - Change Downlights NZ is a NZ owned and operated social enterprise supporting young adults with Down syndrome and intellectual or learning disabilities. We create fragranced luxury soy candles, hand poured using artisanal techniques. The entire manufacturing process supports the development of workplace skills and offers employment opportunities for young adults with Down syndrome and intellectual or learning disabilities. Downlights has been endorsed by Akina Foundation as a registered social enterprise. The establishment of Downlights Charitable Trust donates NZ$1 from every candle sale to the New Zealand Down Syndrome and Association and Recreate NZ. Downlights Fundraising division supports schools and organisations in New Zealand with their fundraising efforts. With high quality products and enthusiastic employees Downlights is a living, working example that altruism and capitalism can co-exist.
