Downstream Capital is a private equity firm that exists to help founders build companies that will matter 100 years from now. We help founders understand why they do what they do, and what about that makes their customers love them. We call this the Reason for Being. Before we ever invest, we use up to $250k of our own resources to help the company apply its Reason for Being in a live market test. The test increases sales, shines a light on strengths and weaknesses, and reveals our value as trusted partners. If the results show great promise for decades of sustainable growth, we offer our long term support and equity investment. This process builds companies with consistent profits and outsized impacts on culture.
