About Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd. (DPDC)

Dhaka Power Distribution Company Ltd. (DPDC) is a government owned power utility in Bangladesh for distributing power in part of the Capital Dhaka City and it's surrounding areas. DPDC was created as a part of Power Sector Reform Programme in Bangladesh and it started its commercial operation on 1st July of 2008 by taking over all assets and liabilities from the then Dhaka Electric Supply Authory(DESA). Today DPDC distributes power to an area of 350 sqkm. Following the vision of the Government of Bangladesh about Power Sector, DPDC is working to have a positive impact on the lives of the people of DPDC area.
