DPL Engineering

DPL Engineering has extensive experience in design and analysis with a concentration in simulation through FEA. Additionally, we offer services in design for manufacturing, 3-D CAD, and creating design specifications. Our area of focus is design and analysis of components using the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel (B&PV) and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) codes for structural and thermal concerns. Previous analyses include pressure vessels, heat exchangers, in-line piping components, and skid packages. Examples of these projects are: • Design and analysis of various ASME B&PV Code Section VIII Division 1 vessels using design by rules and design by analysis methodologies • Thermal stress and fatigue analysis of shell and tube heat exchangers (ASME, TEMA) • Thermal and structural analyses of tanks and vessels to the ASME B&PV Code Section VIII Division 2 • Design and analysis of skid packages for natural gas drilling using AISC and ASCE codes • Design and analysis of a wire wound vessel using ASME B&PV Code Section VIII Division 3 • Qualification of a support assembly for a circuit breaker using traditional hand calculations and response spectrum analysis for seismic loading (IEEE STD 693) • Dynamic structural analyses of tanks used for shipment by trucks for vibration and fatigue concerns (49 CFR 178.274 and ASME B&PV Code Section VIII Division 2) • Other analyses included evaluations for ASCE 7-16 and ASME BTH-1 DPL Engineering’s lead engineer is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) n Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia, and Kansas.
