DraftMailDataCat, LLC

Tim and Russ started working together in March of 2023 looking for an idea to build a company around. We started an LLC together to use as a placeholder which we named DraftMailDataCat in honor of how scattered our ideas were. We wrote down some shared principles to use as a baseline and then proceeded to brainstorm, have hundreds of conversations with prospective users and related companies and build out prototypes we could get real feedback on. We built out four different products (one at a time) and weren't excited enough about any of them to build it out into a company. The fifth idea we got to, Distill, was something we were both excited enough about to build out for real. As we would often say, we haven't been able to prove it's bad idea so we'll just have to build it out and see what happens. We converted the LLC into the Distill C Corp in Feb 2024.
