About Drive Electro

Drive Electro is the Russian leader in the production of electric and hybrid systems for commercial vehicles and public transport. Ever since its foundation, Drive Electro has been working alongside the world's best car manufacturers. The company’s breakthrough moments were the development of Russia’s first e-bus, the first Russian trolleybus with a large autonomous power reserve, and the first Russian e-truck. Drive Electro is considered to be Russia’s leading company operating in electric energy accumulator-based innovative vehicle development. In 2018, Drive Electro was widely recognized among the leading Russian manufacturers of electric vehicles and signed a contract for the supply of batteries and traction equipment for Moscow electric buses. By 2021, Drive Electro and its partners had overall produced and supplied 600 e-busses to Moscow for public use. In 2020 Drive Electro was commissioned by Russia’s largest food retailer, Magnit company, to develop Russia’s first heavy-duty e-truck MOSKVA. Should it successfully pass the testing Magnit will sign a supply contract in up to 200 units. In 2021 Drive Electro announced it intended to launch its own private production plant construction later this year. The estimated production capacity is annual 1000 unit e-truck manufacture and as for batteries and e-buses, it intends to annually produce 700-1000 units. In summer 2021, the company announced that it had completed its first medium-duty electric truck in Russia. Drive Electro has started the process of certification, which should be completed by the autumn of 2021. The truck will be fully electric, with loaded vehicle's mileage on a single charge to exceed 200 km. It will be the first serial vehicle to be produced at the company's plant which is under construction now. The medium-duty truck will be offered to customers with a life-cycle contract. It will include full vehicle maintenance and charging infrastructure.
