Tuktuk is an innovative carpooling ridesharing startup that provides cheap, quick, and convenient travel options for Austin residents.
Traveling in the City of Austin can be an exasperating process for people without cars. Although a ride on a Cap Metro Bus is only a few dollars, these rides are notorious for bloating a 10 minute trip by car into a 45-minute ride. Uber and Lyft present a higher degree of convenience when compared to public transportation but bring a steep cost. Altogether, the transportation situation in Austin is unnecessarily polarizing.
Tuktuk plans to tackle the problem of affordable and convenient transportation by delivering high volume, structured carpooling facilitated through a mobile app. We hit the sweet spot in this spectrum of cost and convenience by offering quick, comfortable transportation for an affordable price.
Tuktuk has been accepted into the 40 Acres Pre-Accelerator Program and the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 cohorts of the Texas Convergent Incubator program, with MVP development underway.
