Bill and Linda Pettit believe that we are guided by an innate force that can heal any psychological experience and facilitate complete mental health. Building on the insights of philosopher Sydney Banks, Linda and Bill offer a deeply spiritual understanding of the Three Principles—the gifts of Mind, Thought, and Consciousness—that are universal to all human beings but that allow us to create our own distinct experience of life. Internationally renowned for their speaking, mentoring, and counseling, Bill and Linda’s unique approach grounds the essential spirituality of the Three Principles in science-based research and decades of insight gained through their experience as clinicians.
Linda Pettit’s recent work with the Three Principles has focused on overcoming trauma and finding wisdom for moving gracefully through transformative change. She often works with women and mental health professionals, utilizing her 35+ years of clinical experience and 12+ years sharing the Three Principles, to inform the spiritual nature of her work. Linda has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University, an M.A. in Counselor Education from Siena Heights University, and B.A. in Journalism from Michigan State University.
Bill Pettit has shared the Three Principles within his psychiatric practice for more than 35 years. Bill was mentored personally for over 26 years by Sydney Banks, and his direct experience with Syd’s teaching closely informs his work. Bill’s most recent speaking and coaching work has focused on overcoming trauma, and the understanding that there is just one cause—and one cure—for mental illness. Bill is board-certified in psychiatry and holds an M.D. from University of Illinois College of Medicine and a B.A. from Creighton University.
