DRV (De Rijn Verbindt / Der Rhein Verbindet)

The project ‘De Rijn Verbindt/Der Rhein Verbindet’ aims to stimulate the German-Dutch collaboration with respect to quality and development of nature on and off the water in the Rhine’s corridor. The project builds on the work done and the network and knowledge developed by the Green Blue Rhine Alliance (GBRA, or Groen Blauwe Rijn Alliantie / Grün Blaue Rhein Allianz). Among the focus areas are recovery of migratory fish, reducing plastic pollution, climate adaptation and resilience and increase of biodiversity. Rijkswaterstaat is the lead partner of the Interreg NL-DE project, which is co-funded by the European Union. The ten project partners are: ARK Natuurontwikkeling, Naturschutzzentrum im Kreis Kleve e.V., NABU-Naturschutzstation Niederrhein e.V. , Biologische Station im Kreis Wesel e.V. , Rheinischer Fischereiverband von 1880 e.V. , Sportvisserij Nederland , Ravon , Museum Schloss und Park Benrath (Düsseldorf) and Museum De Bastei (Nijmegen). Waterschap Rijn en IJssel, Hengelsport Federatie Midden Nederland, Landschaftsfischereiverband Westfalen und Lippe e.V. , de Wasserstrassen- und Schifffahrtsambt Rhein and the Bezirksregierung Düsseldorf are closely involved with the project as well. The project is supported by the Interreg VI program Deutschland-Nederland, Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Industrie, Klima und Energie of the German state Nordrhein-Westfalen and province of Gelderland (NL). The project is guided by the Regional Program management at the Euregio Rijn-Waal.
