Kasturba Institute of Technology (Formerly Known as Kasturba Polytechnic for Women), under the Department of Training and Technical Education, is the second Government institute established exclusively for women in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It was established in the year 1986 to encourage women to effectively contribute towards economic development. It was initially set up as a guest institute in the Meerabai Institute Campus at Maharani Bagh. The Institute shifted to its own spacious double storeyed building at Pitampura in 1997.
