D.Scott Murphy started appraising in 1983. As the son of an appraiser, he knew the business well and was interested in creating a team of experts to lead into the future. In 1996, he established D.S. Murphy & Associates. The company expanded to Florida and California and now has representation in multiple states as D.S. Murphy Valuations. In 2017, the Inspections division was added to provide clients with more valuation assistance. The Academy of Real Estate is the education arm of the company providing CE courses and industry interaction opportunities.
