Techniques we use as part of the Design phase of a project include, but are not limited to: - Generation of CAD models using: -- Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) for increased accuracy of component details and features. -- 3D scanning of complex or larger components. -- Manual measurement (e.g. vernier calliper, micrometer, etc). - Creation of a Digital Twin. - Computer Aided Design (CAD). - Structural / Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation. - Design optimisation. - Generative design. - Rapid prototyping. - Design of patterns and moulds for casting components. Our Reverse Engineering capability provides a solution for components that: - have become obsolete. - have been discontinued by the original manufacturer. - are available but have become prohibitively expensive. - exist in the physical form but electronic design data or drawings are required. - require changes to the design. - require a ‘digital twin’ to be produced prior to a component being damaged, becoming obsolete, etc. - need to be re manufactured for spares or repair. - information is required in digital format for integrated parts catalogues, installation and maintenance instructions, user manuals, etc. Most aspects of the services offered are performed in-house by DTRE Limited.
