Patrick (Paddy) and Ann Dunne started their drilling business in 1963 with their first cable tool rig. Operating from their base in Co. Louth Paddy earned a reputation for quality work and integrity. Business grew from one to four cable tool rigs and in 1981 Dunnes Drilling Services Ltd purchased their first air rotary drilling rig, enabling a faster more efficient service.
Assisted, at various times by their six daughters and two sons the business grew and he was joined full time by his sons, Brendan in 1983 and by Pat in 1989.

Today Dunnes Drilling Services Ltd specialises in trenchless technology. Providing services such as Horizontal Directional Drilling, Pipe Ramming, Pipe Bursting, Guided Auger Boring and Rock Drilling equipment.
