DuraTag is a research pilot project funded by the European Commission under TagItSmart! Horizon 2020 project.
DuraTag aims to develop a platform based on TagItSmart! components that will be used to monitor overheating of crucial reusable machine components in processing industry, to avoid exposure to the extreme heat that could permanently damage the machine and increase the risk of injury and failure.
DuraTag platform will set up an ecosystem promoting repair, reuse, remanufacturing and reconditioning activities in machinery industry, based on the product passport as an enabler. The reuse of material and improved resource efficiency will have great positive impact on circular economy, lowering waste disposal and offering companies to take obsolete products back into the primary production.
