Children, adolescents, and families have been my focus in therapy over the last 20 years. Whether the presenting issue is related to family relationships, school, self-injury, mood disorder, oppositional/defiant behaviors, problems with attention, substance abuse, thought disorders, or any combination of the aforementioned, I am energized by those who seek guidance along their life journey. I am humbled by others' willingness to share their experiences, encouraged by the strength of character exhibited in the pasts they survive and overcome, and am in awe of the resiliency demonstrated in the face of adversity.
With a background in crisis, residential homes, the school environment, intensive in-home therapy, and outpatient counseling, I am experienced in assessment, short- and long-term treatment, family therapy, school avoidance/refusal, and crisis/safety planning. My specialities include working with the chronic and/or at-risk populations.
