The roots, Döscher & Döscher, were founded in 1994 and at a later stage merged with AMS Advanced Microwave Systems to Döscher Microwave Systems GmbH. In Rellingen, directly on the western outskirts of Hamburg, Döscher Microwave Systems GmbH develops and produces microwave-based measuring systems for moisture measurement. Further fields of application in the manufacturing industry and as laboratory equipment are weight per unit measurement and density measurement.
The microwave-based system represents one of the most effective physical measuring methods for industrial moisture measurement. Microwaves penetrate the entire product and can thus measure moisture both on the surface and inside. A single measurement takes only a few milliseconds and is highly accurate. The successful and straightforward two-parameter microwave resonance method (2PMR) was developed in cooperation between the Döscher company and the Chair of High Frequency Technology at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel/Germany.
Our measuring systems MoistureScan and VenScan enable moisture control directly in the production line for different production processes and thus support an optimised process control. The result is available within fractions of a second. Furthermore, we developed individual solutions for our customers in order to offer specialised options (e.g. for high temperatures, abrasive/adhesive materials) and customised solutions for different industries (e.g. wood, food, feed, pharmaceuticals) in addition to the existing measuring systems. In the wood industry alone, more than 600 of the aforementioned measuring systems from Döscher Microwave Systems GmbH have now been implemented worldwide.
