About E. W. MARCHPANE LIMITED
E. W. MARCHPANE LIMITED is the company name for Marchpane bookshop, which specialises in rare children's and illustrated books. Established in 1989 by Laurence Worms and Kenneth Fuller, and situated between Charing Cross Road and St. Martin's Lane in London's West End, Cecil Court is a pedestrian alleyway lined with an alluring mixture of specialist bookshops/fine art galleries and antique emporiums. Marchpane is now well-established and internationally renowned for its fine selection of antiquarian children's books, with a particular interest and specialisation in books, ephemera and other rare 'objets' relating to, written by or about Lewis Carroll. With warm, friendly and knowlegeable staff, and a rolling stock featuring many hundreds of finely illustrated and translated editions of Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking-Glass, and The Hunting of the Snark we will always do our very best to help you find that special book to gift as a present, or to add to your own collection. Marchpane offers a wide selection of collectable British children’s books with many first, early or signed limited editions of great classics such as Winnie-the-Pooh, Peter Pan, The Wind in the Willows, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Wizard of Oz, Little Women, Black Beauty, Pinocchio and, recently, a very fine selection of unusual parodies and other rarities relating to Heinrich Hofmann's classic cautionary tales 'Struwwelpeter' in both German and English. .
