Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance

The mission of the Mobilizing an Earth Governance Alliance (MEGA) is to create effective, equitable, and accountable global governance of the planetary environment, serving the common good of humanity. This is essential to transcend traditional, overly-narrow conceptions of national interest and protect the Earth's fundamental ecosystems for current and future generations. Effective oversight and implementation of commitments governments have already made—but which they are collectively failing to implement—is critically needed. Meanwhile, more comprehensive mechanisms that protect the global environment in the common interest are also urgently needed. The global challenges we face require that humanity finds new ways to work together to achieve the common good, skillfully navigating regressive trends that may undermine sensible collective action. MEGA was created to address these needs and catalyze the creation of inclusive, effective and just global environmental governance frameworks.
