Earth Limited is a non-profit educational & conservation organization that was established in 1999. EARTH stands for Environmental Awareness of Resources and Threatened Habitats. Our mission is to inspire, engage, and empower people in the protection and conservation of our planet's biodiversity and future, both locally and globally. Our presentations take place at our Discovery Center at Southwick's Zoo. Earth Ltd. delivers daily education programs to the nearly 475,000 seasonal visitors to the zoo. Earth also provides off-site community outreach through the ZooMobile program, at schools, libraries, camps, & other organizations. ZooMobiles promote topics as diverse as animal ecology, endangered species, wildlife conservation, adaptations & so much more. Other programs offered by Earth include our Summer Programs, After-hours Zoo Tours, Docent & Intern Training, Research & Junior Zookeeper opportunities. Membership is a key component of keeping Earth Ltd. fiscally solvent & creating a network of informed eco-citizens. A membership with Earth comes with perks including unlimited visits to Southwick’s Zoo for the duration of the membership, after-hours events, discounts on Wild Adventure Camp, 10% off in the Purple Peacock Gift Shop and so much more! Our many members, as well as contributors, are the backbone of support for our organization. In recent years Earth extended its reach outside of the US. Our international projects include support of Great Green Macaw Conservation, the International Rhino Foundation, whale shark research, sloth rehabilitation, & The Sarapiqui Conservation Learning Center in Costa Rica. We are working to establish the Blue Moon Outpost, an educational retreat center, on Utila, located on a Caribbean Island off the coast of Honduras.
