The Embedded Architectures & Systems Group (EAS) develops concepts for the design, implementation, and long-term operation of highly dependable embedded hardware and software. Research focus is on basic software (e.g. OS kernels) and application-specific processors (e.g. MCUs), running flexibly composed applications. Goal is to enable complex compositional systems along with update mechanisms for reconfigurable logic or changing application code. To guarantee continued real-time, safety, security, and maintenance requirements we apply formal methods for verification, build system models for code generation and automatic portability, or generate processor logic from application code.
