About Eating Disorder Research Program

The Eating Disorder Research Program (EDRP) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is a part of the Eating Disorder Assessment and Treatment Program, a collaboration between the Division of Adolescent Medicine and the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The EDRP focuses on improving outcomes of eating disorders in youth. In order to do so, our collaborative team conducts clinical and translational research focused on understanding the etiology, maintenance, and treatment of eating disorders. The EDRP is home to the Timko Research Group and the Cooper Research Group. These research labs focus on different aspects of understanding anorexia nervosa, avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, health equity, improving treatment access and outcome, reducing weight stigma, and educating the public and health care providers about eating disorders. Faculty in the EDRP are committed to training and mentoring the next generation of clinical researchers in the filed of eating disorders.
