Sustainable development sits at the core of the activities of the Energy and Climate Change Division (ECCD). The Division conducts world-changing research and provides training for future generations of engineers, scientists, and decision-makers to support societal needs and as such contribute to the University of Southampton’s vision of changing the world for the better. ECCD is part of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and comprises the Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG) and the Coastal and Climate Research Group. Our work supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with fundamental and applied research across renewable energy, energy access, cities & infrastructure, buildings & communities, behaviour & modelling and climate & emissions.
