ECCO Studios (Empower Create Construct Orchestrate) is a non-profit organization that offers accessible architecture, design, sustainability and urban planning training and resources to underserved youth and communities. Founded in 2018, we work with youth programs in Los Angeles County and across the nation, such as Youthbuild and public charter schools, to encourage students to consider design, technology, and related fields as a way to achieve economic mobility and diversify the design field at large.
Our instructors include professional architects, designers, and urban planners from local firms throughout Los Angeles with experience teaching and mentoring students. We offer workshops and studios teaching skills in design and construction, green building, digital fabrication, real estate and workforce development. After each studio, students assemble portfolios and resumes in preparation for higher education enrollment and job placement.
Through design education and innovation, we encourage students to engage their built environment and ultimately transform their neighborhoods into healthier, safer, and more sustainable communities to live, work, and play.
