ECE is a registered Not-for-Profit organization in Kenya with the objective of Promoting Access to Education, Reproductive Health and mitigating effects of Alcohol and other related substance abuse in the marginalized areas.
Our areas of Jurisdiction are the Counties of Busia, Bungoma, Trans-Nzoia, West Pokot and Turkana both found in the Western and North Rift parts of Kenya.
The areas have a common thing: they all border Uganda and South Sudan and the cross-border challenges are common. The areas such as Pokot and Turkana are extremely blessed areas resource-wise but very marginalized with access to education among the children very low.
ECE comes in to offer Academic mentor-ship programs to the community involving children, parents and teachers and need for total concentration on the same. We have already given hope to many and shared with them that anyone can rise above the challenges of marginalization and poverty to become anything they dreamed of.
The areas as well has and continue recording cases of high teenage pregnancies, Female Genital Mutilation and early marriages; which is a hindrance to girls progress and reason for massive school dropouts. We join other established organizations to raise the voice against this menace and create awareness on reproductive health for the societies.
Boys and young men are also involved in drinking spree and even children are entangled in trading alcohol with other substance abuse across the border. This has affected many young boys academically with thousands of families embroiled in alcoholism and paying less or no attention to schooling their children.
Our mission is to reach as many areas as we can to offer holistic mentor-ship and bring the beauty of education to this communities so that they embrace, own and support their children in pursuing education to benefit them now and in the coming days.
