The mission of ECE STEP is to apply innovative solutions to improve the quality of early childhood education (ECE) through providing a qualified ECE workforce, advanced data science technology, and educational resources.
In 2018, we recognized the need for substitute teachers for our Head Start classrooms and developed a non-profit program, called STEP (Substitute Teacher Empowerment and Placement), to create our own pool of substitute teachers by recruiting and training anyone interested in working with children in early childhood education, while providing affordable staffing for childcare centers in San Francisco. www.ecestep.org
In 2021, we launched Sub Start, an all-in-one online platform that helps Head Start programs to book and manage substitute teachers for their classrooms quickly and easily. www.substart.com
