The roots of East Coast Heavy Diesel & Machinery Limited (ECHD) start in 2008 with Scott Hale seeing an opening in the heavy diesel servicing industry in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, after coming home from a stint of work in Australia. With an uncompromising view of efficiency and quality ECHD has grown to be a Brand of Choice in the complete transport service solutions industry in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. The business has had tremendous growth since inception, moving to and (later purchasing) an existing 4 short bay building on Mill Road in 2010 and building a new 5 bay workshop in 2015. The development has also enabled an expansion of services; ECHD now cover all the servicing needs require to service business vehicle fleets, these include: • East Coast Heavy Diesel and Machinery Limited in Whakatane, Kawerau and Gisborne • Whakatane Tyre Centre Limited in Whakatane and Kawerau • Teds Testing Station Limited in Whakatane Collectively we have a team of highly skilled technicians able to provide a wide range of services which will ensure your vehicles are certified, road worthy and safe. Our team across the service currently stands around 40; we run as a seamless operation.
