The Visually Impaired essentially have not benefited from technological advancements in sensor and microcontroller technologies that have made them more capable and more affordable. This has resulted in them navigating the world at a disadvantaged pace, as the able bodied live ever faster lives by leveraging technology. This causes an ever increasing social-economic gap in society, which leads to inequality and un-inclusiveness. T o bridge this gap we aim to enhance their navigational abilities by leveraging said sensor and microcontroller technologies in the form of LiDAR and Arduino to make a blind cane attachment that allows them to perceive the world further than the physical length of the cane, quickly and precisely (which previous technology like ultrasonic cannot).
