ECONET is a student-led club that creates a community of young people interested in economics and finance and helps them develop in those fields. Our membership consists of high-schoolers from the Czech and Slovak Republic and university students from around the globe. Our members include several winners and finalists of National and International Olympiads.
We organize Economic meetings with leading personas from the financial and economic fields. Our guests have included portfolio managers of top Czech mutual funds, economics professors and chief economists of Czech banks.
We have also founded an Analytical team in co-operation with the Czech Institute for Economic Learning. The team writes articles into our partner financial and economic magazines. Members of our analytical team have also contributed to research at the CERGE-EI institute and its IDEA think-tank.
Lastly, we have founded two Investment Clubs in Prague. The clubs analyze stocks together, manage virtual portfolios and compete in the Wharton Investment Competition. The clubs also publish a weekly Investment Newsletters summarizing market and economic developments. The Newsletter is targeted at high schoolers and aims to improve financial literacy and raise interest in investing amongst young people.
