ECO STOR was established in 2018 to commercialise intellectual property and knowledge gained from ‘Second Life’ energy storage development started in 2013. The business was founded by Incube AS, a material-innovation and architecture company headquartered in Oslo, Norway. In 2019, Agder Energi Venture invested in the company and became the majority shareholder. ECO STOR has secured numerous contracts for delivery of energy storage systems and the company’s technology leadership has been recognised through financial awards from Innovation Norway, ENOVA and the Research Council of Norway. To provide an affordable energy solution, ECO STOR enables the use of “second life” electric vehicle batteries as energy storage.
