EcoCycle Labs a division of the Great Sea Project Corporation, is deeply committed to driving social and environmental change through our innovative Wavecycle system. Our project aligns seamlessly with the ethos of "profit with a purpose," focusing on empowering coastal and remote communities to tackle the urgent issue of marine plastic pollution. Our technology, the WaveCycle Off-Grid Recycling Unit, presents a novel solution to the pressing sustainability problem of marine plastic pollution—a challenge inadequately addressed by current waste management and recycling systems, particularly in areas lacking infrastructure. The baseline, or incumbent, technology relies heavily on centralized recycling facilities that require materials to be transported from collection points to the facility, often powered by non-renewable energy sources. This approach not only contributes to carbon emissions but also fails to engage communities directly affected by pollution, especially in remote or underserved areas. Moreover, many existing systems lack the capacity to process hard-to-recycle plastics, leading to significant volumes of waste ending up in landfills or oceans.
