ECO Educational Institute

The ECO Educational Institute is the specialized agency of Economic Cooperation Organization, founded in 1998, in order to develop and increase the means of communication among the people of the Region for promoting mutual understanding and better knowledge of one another and to broaden the scope of cooperation among member countries in the field of education. The current members of the ECO are the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Republic of Azerbaijan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Republic of Turkey, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The purpose of the ECO Educational Institute (ECOEI), bearing in mind the indispensable role played by education, mental and physical training in bringing about economic and social progress, is to enhance educational collaboration among the people and nations, to promote better understanding and to cultivate stronger ties among the people by organizing intellectual activities including exchange programs in the field of education, and by supporting academic research and publications.
