ECOELASTIKA S.A. is the only approved National System for Alternative Management (CSAM) for ELTs, in application of National law 2939/2001 and Presidential Decree 109/2004.
The philosophy of Ecoelastika is based on the principle of “extended producer responsibility”, in the sense that the producer bears the responsibility to organize the management of ELTs and to cover the relevant cost, applying the best possible practice.
Ecoelastika’s mission is the management of end of life tires disposed of in the Hellenic territory with the use of the best available techniques taking into account environmental and financial criteria.
Ecoelastika supervises the procedure of collecting and final recovery of used tires, keeps the relevant records and prepares annual reports for the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (YPEKA). At the end of each year a report is submitted to the Ministry regarding the quantities of used tires collected by Ecoelastika, as well as the recovery methods used.
