EcoFitae was founded by three master’s students from diverse backgrounds—business, finance, and biotechnology—who came together with one shared vision: to create a better way to quit smoking while making a positive impact on the environment.
We saw a problem. 1.3 billion people worldwide use tobacco products. Every 4 seconds, one person dies from a smoking-related cause. 63.4% of smokers want to quit but feel trapped by addiction and habit. Meanwhile, cigarette butts— the #1 most littered item—take up to 10 years to decompose, polluting the planet and contributing to 84 million metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.
Traditional cessation methods lack the sensory experience smokers are familiar with. Meanwhile, cigarette waste continues to pollute the earth. What if there was a solution that tackled both?
