Ecofruit was born in 1991 from the union of several sicilian farmers, having cultivated the soil for generations, put together by a remarkable attention to environmental issues, they put together an enterprise for production and sales of Integrated Production products, a practice of preservation of cultures against the use of pesticides and chemicals that ensure sustainable agriculture. Soon after, it fully converted to Organic Farming. Trough the merger made in 2013, Ecofruit became the industry leader company in Sicily for commercialization of these products; as a matter of facts, the Organization of Producers operates 5 different implants, associates 450 agricultural producers and farms about 18.5 square kilometers including fields, countryside, greenhouses and tunnels.
All the products sold by our company are carefully checked by our agronomists. Once harvested, products are sorted, processed, packaged and stored in containers and spaces arranged specifically for organic products in order to avoid any contamination during storage operations.
The system of controls we operate is the only one allowing proper tracking of products and the required constant monitoring of public health organisms; organic agriculture is indeed the most difficult method out there since it requires an highly specialized know-how, far more than conventional agriculture: we are convinced that only this way we can always protect the health of our customers and take care of the environment.
Our fresh products include lemons, oranges, mandarins, grapes, clementines, onions, garlic, leeks, potatoes, tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes, cherry tomatoes, artichokes, carrots, melons, plums, peppers and small quantities of other fruit and vegetables.
Our main processed products are: Grilled vegetables in extra virgin olive oil, extra virgin olive oil, vegetable pate, fruit jams, compotes, olives and ready-made sauces. And more are on the way!
