Specific bacterial strains, known for their ability to synthesize nanocellulose, are employed in a controlled fermentation process. This fermentation not only transforms the cellulose into a dense and flexible biomaterial but also introduces natural pigmentation capabilities, resulting in a self-pigmenting material. Our vegan leather alternative is designed to be five times more durable than hide leather while using fewer resources and actually regenerating nature. Our mission is to create a world where leather heals the planet rather than damaging it. We aim to transform leather production into a force for good that protects the planet, empowers vulnerable communities and provides small scale pineapple farmers with new economic opportunities.
