Economics and Politics Research Group

The Economics and Politics Research Group (EPRG) serves as the primary hub for discussions and research within four prominent University of Brasilia Research Centers: the Research Center on Market Regulation (CERME), the Research Center on Economics and Finance (CIEF), the Research Laboratory on Political Behavior, Institutions, and Public Policy (LAPCIPP), and the Master Program in Public Sector Economics (MESP). Established in 2013, the EPRG boasts a membership of over 30 scholars from Brazil and abroad who engage in interdisciplinary research spanning Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Law, and more. EPRG is dedicated to fostering collaborative research among its members. The group organizes a weekly seminar series and regularly publishes working papers authored by its researchers. Additionally, EPRG hosts an annual national conference on Economics and Politics, creating a platform for scholarly exchange and innovation. The group also supports a Visiting Researcher Program, inviting scholars from around the world to contribute to its vibrant research community. As a recognized research group by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), EPRG continues to advance knowledge and understanding in its key areas of focus, driving impactful research and discussions in Economics and Politics.
