ecorbio is a startup founded in 2020 that designs and develops cleantech for truly sustainable yet price-competitive EU biochemicals.
We start with biopolyols and phenol alternatives at our pilot plant in Cyprus via direct chemical upgrading and upcycling of biomass by-products and waste. Through collaborations with leading EU research centres, we've already seen our pilot products replace up to 30% of conventional fossil derivatives in the end products, avoiding up to 2 tCO2eq/t.
Our technology can help manufacturers reduce the need for petroleum derivatives by replacing them with renewable sources. Currently, the available bio-alternatives are too costly, not scalable enough or too resource-intensive to meet industrial needs. Our patented scalable system will allow multi-billion polyurethane and resin manufacturers to utilise truly sustainable, waste-derived low-cost biopolyols.
