EctoCellect is a prospective company that has developed a high quality resource of human cell surface receptor proteins to improve the development of new biological therapeutics. Our core offering is a curated genome-scale resource consisting of the entire ectodomains of human receptor proteins arrayed for systematic screening. This technology can be used for: - Drug target identification, particularly identifying binding partners for new cancer checkpoint inhibitors or targetting inhibitory receptors; - Safety testing new medicines such as therapeutic antibodies and chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) for any potential off-target toxicity effects; - Understanding the mechanism of action of proposed new drug targets (e.g. targets of therapeutic antibodies); - Target deconvolution to identify binding specificities of functional antibodies of unknown binding specificity; - Discovering the binding profiles of auto-antisera to identify targets of antibody-based autoimmunity; - Host-pathogen interactions including virus receptors and invasion receptors used by bacteria, parasites, and fungi. This trusted technology is backed by over a decade of publications showing it can be used at scale to identify new human leukocyte receptor-ligand interactions (Shilts et al. “A physical wiring diagram for the human immune system” Nature 608, p397–404, 2022) and blood stage malaria vaccine targets (Crosnier et al. “Basigin is a receptor essential for erythrocyte invasion by Plasmodium falciparum” Nature 480, p534–537, 2011).
