EDENation is a charity organisation that focuses on supporting underprivileged children in Cape Coast, Ghana, who are unable to enjoy their educational rights to the fullest as a result of financial constraints, lack of motivation or disabilities.
How EDENation has intervened over the years is to enrol such children into school upon their identification. At present, EDENation has 19 scholars of whom 10 were originally out of school, whilst the other 9 were enrolled but were not motivated to attend regularly or stay in school. Since their identification, these scholars have regularly been supported with uniforms, shoes, school bags, stationery, among other things. The idea is for our young scholars to appreciate that someone has a belief in their future and is making the necessary investment towards it.
EDENation has been focused on devising interventions that inspire and motivate our scholars and help them to build their academic confidence and self-esteem. We therefore provide extra tuition for them during the weekends. Also, every scholar has been assigned a volunteer mentor who regularly mentors their behaviours and monitors their academic progress in and out of school. We are committed to imbibing good character values and leadership skills into our scholars so that they become leading examples within their communities.
