Who are we?
At Edge we strive to integrate an incubator atmosphere with in-house University of Chicago and local Chicago startups receiving the valuable time of esteemed University of Chicago students. We believe that business is best learned through theory and practice; the school provides the theory, and we offer the practice. If joining as a cohort member, you will have access to a pool of resources including CNVC mentors, current UChicago students with VC/Entrepreneurship experience, and a network of students pursuing start-ups away from campus, amongst other local founders and Polsky experts.
I am a UChicago student...so how much time do I devote?
Just like anything else, the more hours put into the club, the more rewarding the process will become. Our structure involves 1 on 1 meetings every other week (~30 minutes) where you discuss your goals and ideas with an investor or startup founder and general cohort meetings the other weeks (~1 hour). Our goal is for you to have a startup idea and progress towards this idea throughout the year.
What are we looking for?
Hard workers. Period. We are not discriminant based on experience and other traits as we firmly believe more input to the club increases rewards for both the members and business owners. Bring a great attitude and determination and you will do just fine!
